Kintsugi Experience

Discover beauty in the story of a repaired ceramic.

Spend 60 minutes exploring the world of kintsugi and the character that golden lines bring to ceramics. Enjoy the quiet process of working with your hands and looking closely at an object's individuality.

History & culture

Traditional kintsugi repairs broken or chipped ceramics with lacquer and decorates the joins with metal powder. Its precise origins are uncertain, but it became more widespread alongside tea culture in late 16th-century Japan. The repair becomes part of the vessel's beauty.
